ABOUT THIS PROJECT

Every year a group of the world’s elite designers meet on the shores of Brighton Beach, UK to meld their minds into one creative energy – known as FLASH ON THE BEACH.

Each year one artist is commissioned to create the title sequence for the conference – I humbly accepted an invitation to create something spectacular for the 2011 conference.

The concept was to take graphic pixelated sequencing and integrate it into a live action piece. This ultimately translated into building a unique LED light grid.

A narrative evolved: a creative soul searches for inspiration as he faces manifestations of his inner ghosts. The LED grid provided a cool device to parallel the emotion while the dancers ultimately lead us through this awesome journey.

We have taken this great project through the live shoot; an intense three days of building and shooting that yielded some amazing footage that we are all very proud of. As we move forward, however, we are looking for funds for an editor to tighten the film and bring a new creative viewpoint to the edit, as well as integrate original text elements as the titles to complement the piece!
